Kevin Hart is set to return with new episodes of his ice-bath interview series, “Cold as Balls,” which will be available on Netflix later this summer.
The upcoming interviews will be conducted live at Fanatics Fest in New York this week. Among Hart’s guests are Serena Williams, Rob Gronkowski, Cooper Flagg, Sean O’Malley, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and IShowSpeed.
In the show, Hart engages in conversations with renowned sports figures while both are submerged in ice-filled tubs, adding a unique comedic tension to the interactions. Imagine “Hot Ones,” but in a chilling setting.
“Cold as Balls” debuted in 2017 and has featured a variety of interviews with personalities like Tom Brady, Kelsey Plum, and Blake Griffin.
Commenting on the show’s move to Netflix, Hart stated, “’Cold as Balls’ coming to Netflix feels like a homecoming. I’m pairing two of my favorite entities together for unbeatable conversation and content. I love that for 12, going on 13 seasons, this show continues to be a celebration of sports and entertainment.” He added that the live recordings at Fanatics Fest infuse the sessions with energy, making participants forget about the icy conditions.
Michael D. Ratner, founder and CEO of OBB, the multimedia production company, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Netflix, saying, “For more than 100 episodes straight Kevin, OBB, and Hartbeat have been taking ‘Cold as Balls’ to new levels, filming with the biggest names in sports, on the biggest stages, for billions of viewers around the world.”
Jeff Clanagan, co-founder of Hartbeat and its president and chief distribution officer, remarked, “For 13 seasons, ‘Cold as Balls’ has set the standard for sports comedy by combining top-tier athletes, authentic conversations, and Kevin Hart’s signature humor. We’re thrilled to partner with Netflix as the franchise reaches new audiences and returns to Fanatics Fest for another unforgettable season.”
The series is directed by Ratner, who co-created the show with Sean Spencer. Ratner also serves as showrunner alongside Kfir Goldberg, and executive produces with Scott Ratner, Goldberg, Clanagan, Tina Maher, Hart, Tyler Salter, and Dave Becky. OBB produces in association with Hartbeat.
