Netflix Unveils Teaser Trailer for Korean Rom-Com Series “Can This Love Be Translated?”

Netflix has recently dropped the first teaser trailer for “Can This Love Be Translated?,” an upcoming Korean romantic comedy series featuring the talented duo of Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung. The show is scheduled to premiere on January 16th, much to the excitement of fans eagerly anticipating its arrival.

The series is the brainchild of the esteemed Hong Sisters, Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, known for their work on hit dramas like “Alchemy of Souls,” “Hotel Del Luna,” and “The Master’s Sun.” Directed by Yoo Young-eun, who previously worked on “Bloody Heart,” the production was filmed in various international locations including Japan, Canada, and Italy, showcasing a grand scale rarely seen in the romantic comedy genre.

“Can This Love Be Translated?” promises to break boundaries with its cross-border setting, offering viewers a fresh take on the typical K-drama rom-com formula. The show revolves around the relationship between Joo Ho-jin, a multilingual interpreter, and Cha Mu-hee, a renowned celebrity. Their contrasting personalities set the stage for a captivating story of love and growth, as hinted in the teaser trailer.

Kim Seon-ho takes on the role of Ho-jin, bringing his charm and talent to the character. Meanwhile, Go Youn-jung steps into the shoes of Mu-hee, showcasing her versatility as an actress. The cast is further enriched by Fukushi Sota’s portrayal of Hiro, a captivating figure known as “Japan’s Romance Prince,” whose presence adds layers of complexity to the romantic dynamics explored in the series.

Korean romantic comedies have consistently found success on Netflix, with recent releases like “Dynamite Kiss” and “Bon AppĂ©tit, Your Majesty” earning spots on the streamer’s Global Top 10 non-English TV list. The anticipation for “Can This Love Be Translated?” is palpable, as fans eagerly await the show’s debut and the unfolding of its heartwarming story.
