King Charles Allegedly Delaying Meghan and Harry’s Children’s Passports
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been waiting for nearly six months for British passports to be issued for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
According to a close source, the couple believes that King Charles may be deliberately delaying the applications due to tensions over their children’s royal titles.
The applications were submitted under the surname Sussex, a departure from the children’s previous legal name, Mountbatten-Windsor.
The source revealed, “There was hesitation in granting the kids their passports. Charles was against Archie and Lili having the titles, especially the HRH, and the British passports would serve as the first legal recognition of those names.”
Harry and Meghan had decided to forgo using their HRH titles after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. However, as grandchildren of the monarch, Archie and Lilibet are entitled to the style of His and Her Royal Highness under royal protocol.
It is a concerning situation for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they navigate the complexities of their children’s royal identities amidst strained relationships within the royal family.
As the world watches closely, the delay in issuing passports for Archie and Lilibet raises questions about the extent of influence and control that King Charles may exert over matters concerning his grandchildren.
Despite the challenges they face, Harry and Meghan remain committed to ensuring the best for their children and navigating the intricacies of their unique position within the royal family.
