Disney+ continues its expansion into Korean content with the upcoming release of “Nine Puzzles,” a gripping crime thriller series starring Kim Dami and Son Sukku. The 11-episode show follows the story of Yoon Ena, a high school student who is initially suspected of her uncle’s murder after his body is found next to a single puzzle piece. Years later, Ena reemerges as a criminal profiler only to find herself caught up in a new string of murders connected by similar puzzle pieces.
Joining Kim Dami and Son Sukku in the cast are Kim Sungkyun as Police Captain Yang Jungho and Hyun Bongsik as Junior Detective Choi San. The series is directed by Yoon Jongbin and written by Lee Eunmi, promising a thrilling and suspenseful viewing experience for audiences.
The first six episodes of “Nine Puzzles” are set to premiere on May 21 on Disney+ internationally, with U.S. viewers able to access the content through Hulu. This series is just one of many Korean originals being produced by Disney+, following the success of “Unmasked” and “Hyper Knife” earlier this year.
Looking ahead, Disney+ has announced upcoming releases such as the treasure-hunting drama “Low Life” starring Ryu Seungryong and the international conspiracy series “Tempest” featuring an ensemble cast including Jun Gianna, Gang Dongwon, John Cho, and Michael Gaston. These new additions highlight Disney+’s commitment to investing in Korean content and providing diverse and engaging programming for viewers around the world.
Disney+ is known as the go-to streaming platform for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. In select international markets, it also features the general entertainment brand, Star. With its growing library of Korean originals, Disney+ is solidifying its position as a leading destination for quality content across genres and languages.
