Korean Mystery Series Season 2 Trailer

Netflix has recently unveiled a trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the popular Korean mystery series “Gyeongseong Creature.” The new season is set to premiere on September 27, continuing the gripping storyline that captivated audiences in the first season.

In the initial season, viewers were transported back to 1945, a time when Seoul was under Japanese occupation and known as Gyeongseong. The narrative revolved around the Imperial Army’s cruel biological experiments on humans, which ultimately led to the creation of a monstrous creature that wreaked havoc.

Fast forward to present-day Seoul in the upcoming season, where we follow Chae-ok, portrayed by Han So-hee, as she encounters Ho-jae, played by Park Seo-jun, who bears a striking resemblance to a man she knew during the events of 1945. The storyline takes a thrilling turn as two new key characters are introduced. Seung-jo, portrayed by Bae Hyeon-seong, is a mysterious operative for Jeonseung Biotech, formerly known as Ongseong Hospital in Season 1. The other character, portrayed by Lee Mu-saeng, crafts a sinister plan within the labs of Jeonseung Biotech to recreate the experiments from the past.

Directed by Chung Dong-yoon and written by Kang Eun-kyung, the production is handled by Story&Pictures Media, a division of Kakao Entertainment, and co-produced by CJ ENM’s Studio Dragon. The first season of “Gyeongseong Creature” was released at the end of 2023 and quickly rose to popularity, ranking in the top ten TV shows (non-English) globally and reaching top ten national lists in 69 countries.

Netflix’s lineup of returning Korean scripted content for the year includes the third and final season of “Sweet Home,” released in July, as well as upcoming seasons of “Hellbound,” “Zombieverse,” and “Squid Game.” In the unscripted segment, viewers can look forward to a new season of “Physical 100.”
