A leap, dash, and a capture.
An assault suspect staged a real-life edition of Frogger while attempting to evade arrest on a bustling Los Angeles freeway — but despite his efforts, he was apprehended, with police capturing the spectacular chase on drone footage.
On September 11, an unidentified male was recorded skillfully maneuvering through high-speed traffic on the 91 Freeway, as shown in video footage published by the City of Corona Police Department on Thursday.
The audacious suspect can be seen in the aerial footage expertly avoiding vehicles — squeezing between two rapidly moving 18-wheelers and traversing at least six traffic lanes before darting into a nearby residential area.
“You can dodge a ball, but you can’t escape a drone,” the CPD quipped on their Facebook page, which included a clip from the 2004 film “Dodgeball.”
As they showcased the suspect’s frantic escape across the freeway, they added an arcade game-style soundtrack.
The video continued to follow the fleeing suspect as he weaved through alleys and yards until he was located by police, tased, and taken into custody, according to the footage.
The police department has not yet disclosed any specific charges against him.
