La DoubleJ Celebrates 10 Years of High-Vibration Fashion
“Wrapping the world in joy” is La DoubleJ’s motto, a mantra that founder JJ Martin wholeheartedly believes in. Despite the world’s challenges, Martin continues to champion mood-boosting, spirit-lifting fashion through her vibrant prints and bold designs. To mark a decade of transforming everyday style into a celebration of life, La DoubleJ recently moved its operations to the new LDJ Starquarters in Milan’s trendy Naviglio district. This six-story headquarters not only houses the label’s full operations but also serves as a community hub, fostering a sense of connection and consciousness among its followers.
The highlight of the new LDJ offices is the Galactic Deck, an expansive gathering space offering breathtaking 360-degree views of the city. Here, the brand’s community comes together for spiritual practices, including meditation, healing sessions, and yoga classes. At the center of it all is a custom-made gong, encrusted with meteorite fragments and forged in a fire ceremony at Mount Etna. This sacred instrument adds a mystical touch to the space, amplifying the positive vibrations that La DoubleJ is known for.
While prints have always been the heart and soul of La DoubleJ, Martin acknowledges the need for balance. She has recently introduced a more subdued palette to her collection, featuring solid staples with a twist, crisp white shirts, and jacquard denim. However, the brand’s signature prints have not disappeared entirely—instead, they have evolved, with larger motifs that allow for more breathing room.
One of the standout collections from La DoubleJ is the “Fantastic Creatures” capsule, a collaboration with surrealist artist Beto Val. This whimsical loungewear line features surreal interpretations of flora and fauna, with flamingos morphing into flowers, parrots with leafy wings, and seashells transforming into insect-flower hybrids. It’s a playful blend of nature and imagination, embodying the essence of La DoubleJ’s creative spirit.
