The upcoming Game 4 of the NBA Playoffs first-round series between the LA Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves is shaping up to be a crucial showdown at the Target Center. With the Timberwolves holding a 2-1 series lead after a convincing Game 3 victory, the pressure is on LeBron James and the Lakers to bounce back and avoid falling into a dangerous 3-1 deficit.

In order to secure a much-needed win, the Lakers will need to address several key areas of concern. One major issue from Game 3 was their sloppy ball-handling, as they committed 16 turnovers that led to 28 points for the Timberwolves. Protecting the ball and minimizing mistakes will be crucial for the Lakers to turn the tide in their favor.

Furthermore, the Lakers were thoroughly outplayed in the paint in Game 3, conceding 56 interior points while only managing to score 26 themselves. If they fail to establish a presence in the paint on both ends of the floor, they will once again be at risk of being dominated by the Timberwolves.

Another area of focus for the Lakers will be controlling possession. In Game 3, they attempted significantly fewer shots than the Timberwolves, with Minnesota taking 91 shots compared to the Lakers’ 78. This disparity in shot attempts played a significant role in the outcome of the game and will need to be addressed in Game 4.

Ultimately, the Lakers will need to tighten up their game in all aspects – from ball security to paint dominance and possession control – if they hope to even the series against a confident Timberwolves team.

In terms of injuries, the Lakers will be without Maxi Kleber, who is still recovering from right foot surgery. On the other side, the Timberwolves have listed Rob Dillingham with a right ankle sprain on their injury report.

The projected starting lineup for the Lakers in Game 4 includes LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and Jaxson Hayes. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are expected to start Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Julius Randle, Mike Conley, and Rudy Gobert.

As the teams prepare to square off in Game 4, all eyes will be on whether the Lakers can make the necessary adjustments to keep their playoff hopes alive and avoid falling into a deeper series deficit. With the Timberwolves holding the momentum, it will be a crucial test for LeBron James and company to rise to the occasion and turn the tide in their favor.
