harassed on ABC News by George Stephanopoulos.
It’s amusing how often Democrats express fear at the prospect of engaging with media that might challenge their narratives. A recent example is the unfortunate episode involving Katie Porter in California.
Moreover, the insistence by the hosts of *The View* on desiring more Republican guests raises eyebrows. Is the invitation genuinely about dialogue, or merely a setup for public shaming?
Here’s an excerpt from the *NewsBusters* transcript:
GOLDBERG: But that’s the great thing about *The View*, you know, we welcome people to share their views. We strive for respect while asking tough questions. After all, speculation doesn’t get us anywhere.
SARA HAINES: Exactly.
GOLDBERG: Please go ahead, Joy.
BEHAR: I believe we need more Republicans on the show, yet they refuse to join us. They clearly fear us. Marjorie Taylor Greene noted that Republican men are hesitant around strong women—which may be a fair observation across the board. If only they’d come on, they could shed light on their agendas for this country.
ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: We’ve had some good conversations. There’s value in having voices like Ted Cruz or Mike Johnson, and Thomas Massie has been enlightening.

Here’s a revelation for Joy: Republicans are not quaking in their boots at the sight of you and your co-hosts; they steer clear of your show in the same way one avoids hazardous materials. After years of branding opponents as threats to democracy, it’s rather ironic to wonder why they don’t want to engage at the table.
