Larry the Cable Guy recently faced a health issue that led to the temporary halt of production on his latest TV project. The 63-year-old comedian had to stop working on American Mayhem after being diagnosed with appendicitis. According to a statement, he was released from the hospital on Saturday, July 25.

A spokesperson informed the Daily Mail, “I can confirm that Larry was hospitalized with appendicitis. He was discharged today and is recovering well. He’s in good spirits and feeling much better.”

Larry the Cable Guy shared his own update on X on Sunday, July 26.

“Getting a lot of messages so just to let ya know I’m all good,” he wrote. “I had major stomach pain and turns out I had appendicitis.”

He added: “It was removed and after 2 days in the hospital I’m home and recovering. Pretty sore but vitals good, my butt looks fantastic and now just taking stool …”

Prior to his surgery, Larry the Cable Guy was busy filming episodes for his CBS series, American Mayhem. The series, consisting of 52 episodes, is set to premiere this fall, as mentioned in a press release.

Described as a “high-energy clip show,” the series aims to showcase “the wildest, funniest, and most outrageous moments caught on camera across the U.S., all brought to life by the beloved funnyman whose unmistakable voice and humor have made him a household name.”

Earlier this month, Larry the Cable Guy discussed the challenges of performing stand-up comedy in a politically divided climate with Us.

“We live in the United States of America — somebody doesn’t want to like your act then don’t go see that person’s act. It’s as simple as that,” he exclusively told Us.

Larry the Cable Guy expressed that he doesn’t “worry about it” when performing in what he described as a “woke” America.

“I already got a pretty good, built-in following and I got some awesome fans,” he shared. “You know, if I think it’s funny I’m going to do it and we’ll see where it goes. If you let it bother you, yeah it’s going to be tough.”

He emphasized that comedy is subjective, stating, “That’s the whole key right there. If you don’t like it, it’s like soda pop. Find the one you like and don’t bitch about the others.”
