The fourth annual Las Culturistas Awards, hosted by Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang, will be televised for the first time this year. The awards show, which celebrates the most iconic and consequential moments in culture, will air on Bravo on Tuesday, August 5 and will be available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
The Las Culturistas Culture Awards originated from the hosts’ popular podcast, “Las Culturistas,” which started in 2016. Over the years, the podcast has featured a diverse array of guests including Mariah Carey, Tina Fey, Ariana Grande, Amy Poehler, and Lady Gaga.
Rogers and Yang expressed their excitement for the upcoming awards show, stating, “The word ‘culture’ is defined as ‘the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.’ We are so thrilled to eliminate that whole ‘intellectual’ part entirely with the LCCA’s airing on Bravo and Peacock this August.” They also hinted at the possibility of having Oprah present an award at the show.
NBCUniversal Entertainment executive VP of live events and specials, Jen Neal, also shared her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are so happy to bring the vibrant and whimsical ‘Las Culturistas Culture Awards’ to our Bravo and Peacock audiences. Matt and Bowen’s undeniable chemistry, playful humor, and love of pop culture’s big and small moments have shaped this spirited award show, redefining what it means to celebrate culture.”
The awards show is set to be taped in Los Angeles on July 17 and will be produced and distributed internationally by Lionsgate Alternative Television. Rogers and Yang will serve as executive producers, alongside other industry professionals. A full list of categories for the awards will be announced at a later date.
Fans of the podcast and pop culture enthusiasts can look forward to a night of live musical performances, celebrity guests, and the celebration of culture’s most memorable moments. Stay tuned for more updates on the Las Culturistas Culture Awards as the event approaches.
