Las Vegas man Oswaldo Perez-Sanchez, wanted for the 2023 murder of his girlfriend, Tabatha Tozzi, has been apprehended in Mexico. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that Perez-Sanchez allegedly shot Tozzi following an argument and immediately fled the scene.
After a two-year search, authorities in Villa Fontana, CuliacÔn, arrested Perez-Sanchez on April 7 in connection with the death of another woman, Vivian Karely. Mexican authorities stated that the Specialized Arrest Unit captured Perez-Sanchez in Ciudad Obregón on charges of femicide and forced disappearance.
Perez-Sanchez is currently detained in Mexico on local charges and awaits extradition to the United States, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Reports suggest that he had been living under the alias “Jorge N” while evading capture in the region.
It remains unclear whether Perez-Sanchez has entered a plea in response to the charges against him. Regina Lacerda, the mother of Tabatha Tozzi, expressed a mix of emotions following his arrest. She expressed relief that her daughter’s alleged killer had been caught but also conveyed sympathy for the family of Vivian Karely, the other victim.
Lacerda stated, āI am happy and also very sad. I am happy because the killer of my daughter Tabatha got caught, a moment we had been waiting for almost 2 years! I knew in my heart this moment was arriving soon, and it finally did. But I am also very sad because he took the life of another young woman: Vivian Karely. Her name deserves to be honored and we will keep honoring her as well.ā
Tozzi’s family plans to commemorate her life in a memorial event at Craig Ranch Regional Park on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Lacerda expressed solidarity with Karely’s family, emphasizing the pain of losing a daughter to such a tragic act of violence. She pledged to support them in their pursuit of justice.
