During her much-anticipated A Matter of Time tour, artist Laufey showcases a thoughtful approach to her concert attire. Unlike many pop stars who often switch outfits at every stop, Laufey emphasizes functionality in her wardrobe choices. “I’m playing cello, piano, and guitar, so it needs to be something I can hold all those instruments in,” the talented musician shared with Vogue. “I want it to be uniform so there are no surprises.” However, her fashion choices do carry a unique flair, particularly during her recent performance at Crypto.com Arena where she unveiled exclusive colorways inspired by Los Angeles.

For Laufey, her on-stage wardrobe is a reflection of her personal style. “I started realizing my closet was becoming Bode-fied,” she playfully comments, highlighting her love for the nostalgic charm of doll-like clothing, which aligns perfectly with the aesthetic of the brand Bode. The connection between Laufey and the brand deepened at Bode’s Los Angeles store, where their collaborative tour wardrobe began taking shape. “I’ve become friends with the people that work there. The collaboration between Laufey and designer Emily Adams Bode Aujla was seamless from the outset. The first act of the A Matter of Time tour is designed to transport audiences into a fairytale setting, complete with a castle backdrop and a whimsical swing. “The choreography is more fluid,” Laufey explains, necessitating a costume that was both balletic and graceful. Drawing inspiration from classical ballet and vintage musicals, Bode Aujla remarks on a silhouette reminiscent of legendary ballerina Margot Fonteyn, alongside influences from the original 1890 production of The Sleeping Beauty. While Laufey typically wears a soft mint green, her vibrant butter-yellow ensemble during her LA show paid homage to the city’s sports heritage, particularly the Lakers.
