A house in Nancy Guthrie‘s Arizona neighborhood is currently under investigation in connection to her mysterious disappearance, as reported by the police late Friday night. Nancy Guthrie, who is the mother of “Today” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for almost two weeks now.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department released a statement confirming the ongoing law enforcement activity at a residence near E Orange Grove Rd & N First Ave in relation to the Guthrie case. This joint investigation, at the request of the FBI, has limited the release of additional information to the public at this time.
According to sources cited by the New York Times, the house under investigation is located in the Catalina Foothills neighborhood, just a short distance from Nancy’s residence, as well as that of her older daughter, Annie, and her husband. In addition, a grey Range Rover is also currently being looked into at a nearby Culver’s, with investigators reportedly photographing something inside the car’s trunk before having it towed from the scene.
Recently, the FBI announced an increase in the reward amount to $100,000 for any information that could assist in locating Nancy Guthrie or lead to the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for her disappearance. Furthermore, the agency provided a detailed description of a potential kidnapper, describing him as a male standing around 5’9” to 5’10” tall with an average build, seen wearing a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack in the video footage.
Earlier in the week, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department detained an individual for questioning in connection with the case, leading to preparations for a search at a location linked to that individual. However, the person was later released.
Nancy Guthrie was officially reported missing on February 1, with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department categorizing her disappearance as a crime the following day. Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that concerning evidence was found at her home, indicating the presence of a crime scene and prompting a call for community assistance.
Savannah Guthrie, in response to her mother’s disappearance, has taken to social media to address the situation and urge the public to aid in the search efforts. She emphasized the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to law enforcement, regardless of one’s location, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the need for collective support in finding Nancy Guthrie.
