Representative Joyce Beatty (D-OH), who holds a position at The Kennedy Center, has initiated legal action asserting that Donald Trump lacked the proper authority to affix his name to the esteemed institution, demanding its removal.
Beatty has played a pivotal role in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the vote that led to Trump’s name being added to the Kennedy Center. She reported being present on the call during the vote, revealing that Trump’s supporters muted dissenters and stifled any opposition to the name change.

While the White House contends that the board made a decision to honor Trump, insiders at the Kennedy Center indicate that Trump has been pushing for this name change since his return to the Oval Office.
In her lawsuit, Beatty contends:
The plaintiff sought to oppose the name change but was silenced at the Board meeting. Any further attempts to persuade the Defendants to adhere to the law would be in vain. Unless this Court intervenes, the transformation of the Kennedy Center into a personal vanity project for Defendant Trump will continue to jeopardize the institution’s integrity. Congress has established that the Kennedy Center’s mission is to serve as a living tribute to President Kennedy.
