The New York Liberty finally got their revenge against the Las Vegas Aces in a thrilling Game 4 showdown. After nearly a year of waiting to redeem themselves following a heartbreaking loss in the 2023 Finals, the Liberty were determined to even the score. Coach Sandy Brondello urged her team to remember the pain of that defeat and use it as motivation throughout the season.

The opportunity for redemption came earlier than expected, as the Liberty faced off against the two-time defending champions in the semifinals. While the ultimate goal is to win the championship, dethroning the Aces was a significant milestone for New York. The team was fueled by the memories of the Aces’ trash talk after their previous victory, adding a personal element to the series.

Star player Breanna Stewart led the charge with an impressive performance, recording 19 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and four blocks. In a tense and competitive Game 4, the Liberty maintained control throughout the game and sealed the victory with a decisive 16-2 run in the fourth quarter. This win marks the sixth time in franchise history that the Liberty have advanced to the WNBA Finals.

From the opening moments of the game, the Liberty took control and never looked back. Despite a few attempts by the Aces to rally, New York’s veterans stepped up at crucial moments to maintain their lead. The Aces struggled to find their rhythm against the Liberty’s stifling defense, shooting just 21 of 64 from the field and 7 of 30 from beyond the arc.

After the game, Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon acknowledged that the Liberty had been the better team throughout the season and deserved the win. Despite falling short of a third consecutive title, Hammon praised New York for their impressive performance and acknowledged that they were the team to beat.

As the Liberty celebrate their hard-fought victory and look ahead to the WNBA Finals, the team remains focused on their ultimate goal of winning the championship. With their sights set on three more wins, the Liberty are determined to finish what they started and claim the title that has eluded them for so long. The stage is set for an exciting finals matchup, and the Liberty are ready to leave it all on the court in pursuit of glory.
