A Lincoln Park resident is facing several charges after allegedly groping two women in the area on the same afternoon last month, one of whom was on a CTA bus, according to court documents.
Jesse Goloven, 32, has been charged with aggravated battery in a public setting, aggravated battery against a transit passenger, and property damage.
On March 7, in the afternoon, Chicago police arrested Goloven in the 1900 block of North Sheffield Avenue. This followed a report from a CTA bus driver who said Goloven had broken a bus window, as noted in a CPD report. A 21-year-old woman on the bus later informed police that Goloven had approached her, requested a “favor,” and then groped her chest.
Authorities also connected Goloven to another incident earlier that day on the 1700 block of North Clybourn Avenue. Prosecutors indicated that surveillance footage showed Goloven approaching a 27-year-old woman randomly and inappropriately touching her lower private area.
On the same day, a third individual reported that Goloven knocked a coffee out of their hands, but officials stated that no charges were pursued for that incident.
Judge Antara Rivera approved the state’s request for detention, ensuring Goloven remains in custody while awaiting trial.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.
Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
