Nine players are set to make their British and Irish Lions debut in the upcoming tour match against the Western Force. However, Irish players Jamison Gibson-Park and Hugo Keenan will not be playing as they continue to recover from their injuries.

Lions coach Andy Farrell has chosen Irish and Leinster hooker Dan Sheehan as the captain for the match. Other debutantes include Garry Ringrose, James Lowe, Joe McCarthy, and Josh van Der Flier. Additionally, four players will make their Lions debut off the bench – Ollie Chessum, Huw Jones, Andrew Porter, and Will Stuart.

Gibson-Park and Keenan will not be part of the squad due to their ongoing injury concerns. After a disappointing loss to Argentina, Farrell is looking for a strong response from his team against the Force.

Only Sione Tuipulotu and Tadhg Beirne have retained their place in the starting XV from the match against Argentina. Farrell would have made changes to the team regardless of the result against Argentina to assess the full squad.

The Lions previously defeated the Force 69-17 in 2013, but they are expecting a tougher challenge this time around. The Force team includes several current or former Wallabies players.

The Lions XV for the match includes Elliot Daly, Garry Ringrose, Finn Russell, Josh van der Flier, Tadhg Beirne, and more. Dan Sheehan will captain the side on his Lions debut.

The match is expected to draw a large crowd at Optus Stadium, with the Force gearing up to face the Lions in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
