Lisa Rinna, known for her appearances in her own reality series and guest spots on others, has made it clear that she does not support fellow reality star Spencer Pratt’s bid to become the mayor of Los Angeles.
Rinna shared her thoughts on the complicated L.A. mayoral race during an interview with Variety on the red carpet at the American Music Awards held at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Arena.
When asked whom she supports in the race, Rinna responded, “I don’t know yet,” but was quick to note her lack of support for Pratt. Pratt, known from the MTV reality show “The Hills,” has been gaining attention in the polls by criticizing Karen Bass over how the city handled the Palisades fire in January 2025. Pratt and his wife, reality TV star Heidi Montag, lost their home in the devastating wildfires.
“Not a reality star, though,” Rinna asserted firmly. “I love him [Pratt], but we’ve already done that. We’re not going to do that again,” she remarked, hinting at former President Donald Trump, who rose to national fame through NBC’s reality series “The Apprentice.”
When questioned about Pratt’s growing support within the industry, Rinna was candid.
“You got me, because listen, I’m a reality person. You wouldn’t want me as mayor, really. I mean, let’s just face it, I love him. I think he’s amazing. I just think we did that,” she explained. Rinna briefly mixed up the mayor’s race with California’s equally chaotic gubernatorial contest. The June 2 primary in the state has drawn significant public interest, marking the start of the 2026 election cycle.
“Let’s have somebody that’s already been mayor — the mayor of San Jose, or whoever,” Rinna stated, referring to Matt Mahan, a candidate for governor. She graciously admitted her earlier confusion.
“I like him,” Rinna expressed regarding Mahan. “I like him for governor.”
