“Live with Kelly and Mark” Sees Ratings Growth Following Academy Awards

And the Oscar goes to “Live with Kelly and Mark,” which saw ratings growth the week of the Academy Awards. That’s due in part, of course, to the daytime strip’s signature post-Oscars coverage, starting with the live episode from the Dolby Theatre on March 3, just hours after “Anora” was named this year’s best picture.

The Oscars halo gave “Live” a week-to-week bump in key measures including total viewers (up 4% – 2.315 million vs. 2.218 million), households (up 3% – 1.49 rating vs. 1.45 rating), women 18-49 (up 10% – 0.33 rating vs. 0.30 rating) and women 25-54 (up 5% – 0.46 rating vs. 0.44 rating). Year to year, the week of episodes was also up 2% in total viewers (2.315 million vs. 2.278 million) and up 14% with women 18-49 (0.33 rating vs. 0.29 rating).

The show’s Monday morning post-Oscars edition averaged 2.65 million viewers, making it the second most-watched telecast of the season.

The “Live” uptick comes as the Oscars as a whole saw a small year-to-year gain: 19.7 million viewers, up 1% from 2024, and a 4.54 rating in the 18-49 demo, up 19% from last year. That repped a five-year high for the Oscars in both total viewers and 18-49.

“Live with Kelly and Mark” broadcast on Monday, March 3 — the day after the Oscars — at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET from the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood, less than seven hours after the Oscars signed off at the venue. Guests included Steve Aoki and Lil Jon supplying the music, while Jerry O’Connell reported for the show from the red carpet and Nikki Glaser gave her take on the awards show’s winners and losers. The episode opened with an homage to “Wicked,” including host Kelly Ripa in full costume as Glinda.

According to “Live,” it has remained syndication’s No. 1 most-viewed talk show for 110 weeks straight across most key measures, beating its closest competition for the week by 52% in total viewers (2.315 million vs. 1.479 million), 46% in households (1.49 rating vs. 1.02 rating) and 50% in women 25-54 (0.46 rating vs. 0.31 rating). In also beat its closest competition in women 18-49 for the 22nd week, by 55% (0.33 rating vs. 0.21 rating).

And season to date, “Live” continues to score as syndication’s No. 1 talk show in all key measures.
