Local Leaders Take Action Amid Claims of Inaction
In a striking turn of events, local leaders in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district have successfully closed down a brothel situated alarmingly close to two elementary schoolsâwithout any assistance from the congresswoman herself.
Recent reports indicate that constituents within AOC’s district are expressing dissatisfaction with her perceived lack of support. This closure may serve as a tangible example to bolster their grievances.
Whereâs AOC When It Matters?
One might wonder when exactly AOC has stepped up for her constituents. While she seems to find ample time to jet off across the nation alongside Bernie Sanders, rallying against the so-called oligarchs, her local responsibilities appear to be left unattended.
Local Brothel Near Schools in AOCâs District Shuts Down, Local Leaders Say She Did Not Assist
The NYPD has shut down a notorious brothel located above a bodega near two public schools in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district. This action comes after months of advocacy from local leaders who criticized the progressive lawmaker for her inaction regarding the issue.
Known colloquially as the âbodega brothel,â the establishment operated on the second floor of a bodega off Roosevelt Avenue in Queens, an area where open solicitation from sex workers has become commonplace, as noted by local Democratic district leader Hiram Monserrate in an interview with Fox News Digital.
Footage from inside the brothel reveals cramped and makeshift rooms, delineated by wooden panels and shower curtains, each barely sufficient for a bed.
This bodega is situated directly across from two public schools, forcing students to walk past sex workers on their way to and from classes for an extended period. Just an hour before Ocasio-Cortez’s recent town hall, Fox News Digital reported seeing children accompanied by their parents walking past the establishment as three women stood outside.
Despite the evident community need, AOC’s silence on the matter raises questions. Yet, one can wager she will persist in her narrative that she and her party prioritize the welfare of women and children.
It may be time for the constituents of her district to reconsider their representation and think about sending someone more committed to local issues into office.
