Liz Meriwether Casts Lola Petticrew and Scott McNairy in New Hulu Series
Liz Meriwether has made some exciting casting choices for her upcoming Hulu series. According to Variety, Lola Petticrew and Scott McNairy have been chosen to star in the untitled series, which is loosely based on the 1987 movie “Black Widow.” Emmy Rossum is also set to star in the drama, with Brian Kirk on board as director and executive producer.
The show’s logline reads, “An FBI agent uses the secrets from a female serial killer’s past to try and find her.” Rossum will play the FBI agent, while Petticrew will portray Catherine, a killer with a troubled past targeting wealthy men and evading the NYPD and FBI. McNairy will take on the role of Danny, an NYPD Homicide Detective who is described as sharp, tired, and emotionally complex.
Meriwether is both the writer and executive producer of the series. Rossum will also executive produce through her Composition 8 banner alongside Sara Moskowitz. Ron Bass, the writer of “Black Widow,” is also attached as an executive producer. Kirk will direct the first two episodes and serve as an executive producer. The show will be produced by 20th Television and Searchlight TV.
Petticrew’s recent credits include the FX/Hulu series “Say Nothing” and films like “Dating Amber” and “A Bump Along the Way.” McNairy, known for roles in “Argo,” “Gone Girl,” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” recently portrayed Woody Guthrie in a Bob Dylan biopic. He has also appeared in various TV shows such as “Halt and Catch Fire” and “Fargo.”
Petticrew is represented by Hamilton Hodell, Range Media Partners, CAA, and Shelter PR, while McNairy is represented by UTA and The Group Management. Kirk is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, Independent Talent, and Gang Tyre.
