London Thieves Prefer iPhones Over Samsung Galaxy Phones

In summary

  • Anecdotal evidence that London thieves prefer iPhones
  • Stories of Samsung Galaxy phones being handed back
  • iPhones continue to retain their value

We’ve all heard the stories of phone theft in major cities, but it seems that London thieves have a clear preference when it comes to smartphones – iPhones over Samsung Galaxy phones. According to a report in London Centric, criminals in the UK capital are targeting iPhones more frequently than other brands.

One incident involved a 32-year-old Londoner who was robbed by a gang of thieves. Surprisingly, after taking all his valuables, including a camera and a beanie, one of the thieves handed back his phone with the explanation, “Don’t want no Samsung.” It seems that Samsung Galaxy phones are not as appealing to these thieves as iPhones.

Rejected by an e-bike snatcher

This incident is not an isolated case. Multiple Android users have reported similar experiences of having their Samsung Galaxy phones rejected by thieves. In one instance, a Samsung Galaxy phone was snatched by a young man on an e-bike, only to be thrown on the floor in apparent disinterest.

Despite the similar retail pricing, it seems that Apple’s premium iPhones hold greater value in the stolen phone market compared to Samsung Galaxy phones. This trend raises an interesting point – if you want to protect your phone from theft, consider opting for a Samsung Galaxy instead.

It’s fascinating to see how Apple’s brand perception continues to influence even petty criminals in London. The allure of iPhones seems to be universal, even in the eyes of thieves.
