Brave 12-Year-Old Stops Burglar in Home Alone Incident

A 12-year-old boy thwarted a burglar who broke into his home while he was alone on Tuesday. The quick-thinking child jumped from his bedroom window and called the police, leading to the arrest of the intruder, Christian Garcia, 53.
The incident took place on Eagle Avenue in Medford, where the boy heard glass shatter downstairs and the sound of footsteps in the kitchen. Without hesitation, he leapt out of his window and spotted Garcia inside the house.
The courageous child hid in the yard and dialed 911, prompting a swift response from the police. Garcia was apprehended inside the home within minutes.
According to authorities, Garcia allegedly broke a kitchen window to gain entry into the property. Luckily, the child was unharmed during the incident.

Garcia was charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip the following day.
