A tragic incident occurred early Monday in Long Island, where a 28-year-old man died in his father’s arms as his mother witnessed the aftermath of a hookup that turned fatal, according to officials.
Kristen Sculley, 22, is facing second-degree murder charges for allegedly sneaking into the man’s basement apartment in Massapequa during the night for a pre-arranged meeting, before fatally stabbing him in his bed, police reported.
On Tuesday, Sculley was seen with a sinister smirk as officers escorted her to court. “We believe that this woman had arranged to meet,” stated Nassau County Police Detective Lt. George Darienzo. “She was an acquaintance of our victim, and they had planned to meet that evening.”
“The stabbing is believed to have occurred in the bedroom,” Darienzo explained. “The man died in his father’s arms, a trauma no family should have to endure.”
Police alleged that Sculley became angry and used a pocket knife to stab the victim. They described the two as having a friendship for several years.
Officers responded to the Beaumont Avenue residence at around 1:30 a.m. Monday, discovering the gruesome scene. The wounded man had managed to reach his parents for help.
“He climbed the stairs seeking his mother’s help, screaming,” Darienzo recounted. “His parents attempted to stop the bleeding in the kitchen, but their son became unresponsive.”
Darienzo also mentioned that there was evidence suggesting drug use by both the victim and suspect, although none were found.
Sculley was set to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
This is a developing story.
