From Met Gala to Pet Gala: Pharrell Williams Unveils Canine-Influenced Louis Vuitton Menswear Collection
This year, Pharrell Williams took a step back from the glitz and glamour of the Met Gala to retreat to the countryside for the unveiling of his latest Louis Vuitton menswear resort collection. This collection was heavily influenced by Williams’ love for dogs, featuring a range of canine-themed accessories and garments that showcased his unique design aesthetic.
Although not as dog-centric as his previous collections, the 2025 Louis Vuitton menswear line still featured a variety of dog-inspired elements. From dog graphics to bags shaped like different breeds such as pointers, foxes, and beagles, Williams incorporated his passion for man’s best friend into every aspect of the collection. Other notable pieces included a trunk/dog bed hybrid, dog collars, doggy-do bag holders, a brass-doored Speedy pet trunk, dog bowls, a quilted leather dog jacket, and a stylish cap with built-in earholes.
While Williams was not present to showcase the collection in person, the designs paid homage to classic British fashion tropes with a modern twist. The collection featured Prince of Wales check tweed puffers, microcheck tailoring in tweedy hues of brown, tailored top coats in herringbone, commuter-friendly quilted jackets, and collarless jackets with distorted LV patterns. The incorporation of foxes and crowns in a woven print jacket added a whimsical touch to the overall aesthetic.
Additionally, Williams introduced a range of casually elevated pieces in rich materials, including parkas, chore jackets, windbreakers, varsity jackets, and bombers. A standout piece was a cropped fitted jacket in olive-dyed shearling, showcasing the designer’s attention to detail and craftsmanship. The denim and tailoring in the collection featured the signature LV boot-cut, paired with handsome lug-soled boots for a rugged yet sophisticated look.
Overall, Pharrell Williams’ latest Louis Vuitton menswear collection was a seamless blend of his love for dogs and his unique design sensibility. With a mix of dog-inspired accessories and elevated casual pieces, the collection offered a refreshing take on menswear that resonated with fans of the brand and fashion enthusiasts alike.
