Love Island USA‘s Zach Georgiou was unfazed by Casa Amor newcomer Alannah Keyser‘s previous romantic involvement with his brother, Charlie Georgiou, and pursued a relationship with her regardless.
In the Monday, June 22 episode of the popular Peacock series, Alannah disclosed to Zach that she had dated Charlie and they had even shared a kiss. This revelation did not deter Zach, as he and Alannah were later seen cuddling in bed that night.
Alannah’s time in Casa Amor coincided with a controversy off-screen involving a resurfaced video allegedly showing her using a racial slur. Following her appearance on the show, a video circulated on social media platforms featuring a woman seemingly using the N-word while singing along to a song. The identity of the person in the video remains unverified. Us Weekly has contacted Peacock for a statement.
In response to the controversy, Nick Rogers, a friend of Alannah, defended her publicly.
“She’s incredibly kind and has never shown any racist behavior around me,” Nick shared via TikTok on Monday, June 22. “I’ve never thought of Alannah as someone who could be racist.”
Nick also addressed alleged screenshots of Alannah’s Snapchat messages circulating online, dismissing them as “fake.” He added, “Knowing Alannah, I can’t see her posting that on social media. With AI, it’s easy for such scenarios to be manipulated.”
While standing by Alannah, Nick commented on the video where she seems to lip-sync a slur.
“I watched the video, and I can’t definitively say if she used the N-word,” he noted. “It’s a sensitive topic, and it’s inappropriate for non-Black individuals to use that word.”
Nick further reflected on the context, stating, “The video was from a time when that word was used more freely, around 2016 or 2017. My high school was diverse, and many people used it. It doesn’t justify it, but I wanted to share my perspective.”
He concluded by saying, “I believe Alannah is a wonderful person, and we shouldn’t judge her character based on possibly false information.”
