Luigi Mangione is currently enjoying life behind bars with a substantial $40,000 in his commissary account, a boon from his numerous admirers!
The individual accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has garnered a loyal following, with supporters continuously depositing funds into his account at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, as confirmed by a recently made public jailhouse source.
Luigi’s shopping options are diverse, allowing him to indulge in treats like Nutella Hazelnut spread for $4.90, summer sausage for $2.10, or a simple bowl of oatmeal for $3.65. If he’s in the mood for something spicier, he can grab jalapeno wheels for $3.20 or a block of Velveeta cheese for $3.70. Despite having a wealth of funds, there’s a limit of $160 on what he can spend during each commissary visit.
In addition, Luigi is inundated with letters—estimates report he receives between 100 and 200 daily. Some correspondence, particularly from female fans, has been known to get quite intense. One admirer reportedly expressed her desire to “bug out on his d–k.”

However, life in prison isn’t all fun and games for Luigi; he has been assigned to garbage duty, which involves emptying trash bags each morning. Reports indicate that he keeps in touch with his parents during visits and communicates with his legal team in preparation for two trials—one in federal court and the other at the state level.
As you may be aware, Luigi faces charges from both state and federal authorities for the alleged fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4, 2024. In the federal case, Luigi may be facing the death penalty if found guilty of murder with a firearm.
