Not Asking You to Free Luigi, Judge …
Could You Free Up His Hands Though???

Luigi Mangione‘s legal team is making efforts to free their client gradually, starting with his hands. They are requesting the judge to allow Mangione to appear in court without shackles on his hands for future hearings.
In a letter addressed to the judge, Mangione’s legal representative, Karen Friedman Agnifilo, is advocating for Mangione to be permitted to wear regular court attire instead of a prison jumpsuit and to be exempt from wearing a bulletproof vest.
The defense team is arguing that the presence of restraints and prison attire during court proceedings unfairly biases the jury against Mangione, impeding his right to a fair trial.
Mangione’s lawyers assert that he poses no threat in the courtroom and has maintained a commendable behavior since his incarceration in December.

The defense team argues that the media coverage of Mangione’s case, coupled with his appearance in restraints and prison clothing, could unjustly influence potential jurors, jeopardizing the integrity of the trial.
Following the December shooting death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in NYC, Mangione was arrested and charged with murder.

Having spent his 27th birthday in jail last month, Luigi Mangione continues to await his federal trial, which is scheduled to commence next year.
