Regarding his next potential love interest, Lukas Gage has decided to keep things more private.
“I don’t believe that every detail needs to be showcased to the public,” the 30-year-old Gage shared exclusively with Us Weekly on September 23, reflecting on his upcoming memoir, I Wrote This for Attention.
“I think certain experiences should be kept personal and cherished privately,” he elaborated. “I was quite open about my last relationship, but moving forward, I feel it’s better to keep things a bit more subdued.”
Gage previously made headlines for his swift marriage to Chris Appleton, with whom he got engaged just a month after their romance became public in February 2023. In April, the couple tied the knot in a ceremony officiated by Kim Kardashian.
Just shy of seven months into their marriage, Appleton initiated divorce proceedings against Gage. They finalized their divorce settlement in June 2024.
In his upcoming memoir, I Wrote This for Attention, set to release on Tuesday, October 14, Gage reflects on his brief marriage to Appleton and other significant events from his life.
“This book draws from the numerous journals I maintained as a child, where I documented many things I kept to myself,” he previously mentioned to Us. “In this memoir, I begin to share these stories, illustrating why, at times, it felt more secure to remain silent about them.”

Gage emphasized to Us that he intends to “maintain a low profile if he enters another marriage.” However, he has no regrets about sharing his life’s ups and downs, especially within his memoir where he manages to find humor even in his darkest moments.
“Humor is essential,” he noted in his conversation with Us. “It’s a coping mechanism for me. Plus, while some bizarre things occur, they often aren’t that unusual—many people can relate to these dark chapters of my life. I chose to illuminate those experiences.”
He elaborated, “I approach every aspect of my life with humility, but there were moments during that period where I experienced trial and error with medication adjustments and misdiagnosis. This sometimes led to manic episodes. While it was an impulsive and chaotic time, I came to understand my decisions better once I found the right treatment and cleared my mind. I don’t regret those experiences because they helped me grow.”
The actor acknowledges that not everyone appreciates humor as a response to difficult times, as he mentioned to Us, recognizing that “many thought I was trivializing or joking about serious issues, including my divorce.”
“And in a way, I was, you know?” he reflected. “It’s vital to find humor even amid darkness.”
