In a rather amusing turn of events, French President Emmanuel Macron found himself at the center of a media frenzy during a train ride heading into Ukraine this past Sunday.
Accompanied by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the trio was en route to Kiev to address the ongoing conflict with Russia and to explore pathways to potential peace talks. However, their journey quickly veered off track—at least in the eyes of the public.
Speculation ran rampant as reporters captured footage of Macron hastily snatching a crumpled tissue. This seemingly innocuous act led to rampant rumors suggesting that the French leader was in possession of cocaine. Meanwhile, some observers posited that Chancellor Merz appeared to be discreetly concealing a straw or perhaps a spoon, raising eyebrows and questions alike.

In response to the swirling rumors, French media outlets quickly defended Macron, asserting that he merely retrieved a handkerchief from the table. A spokesperson from the outlet Libération dismissed the speculation, labeling it as nothing more than “conspiracy theories.”
