NBCUniversal is taking the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to a whole new level this year with the exciting introduction of a new feature on Peacock. Viewers will now have the opportunity to watch the annual parade in Peacock’s Mulitivew option, which includes a livestream positioned right on the main float itself.
The 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcast on November 27 at 8:30 a.m. across NBC and Peacock. The event will kick off with a performance by “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo and will be hosted by Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker from the “Today” show. Last year, the parade drew a record-breaking 31.7 million viewers.
Peacock subscribers will have the unique opportunity to experience the parade from three different camera angles using the Mulitview feature:
1. Traditional Programming (primary view): This view will include commentary from NBC hosts, live performances, and all the excitement of the parade.
2. Float View: Viewers can ride aboard the classic Tom the Turkey float and feel like they are part of the parade.
3. High-Rise View: Get a bird’s eye view of all the action from high above the parade route.
This is the first time that Peacock has offered Mulitview for a live entertainment special. The feature was previously launched during the 2024 Paris Olympics and has been used for Premier League games and NBC News’ 2024 Election Night coverage. It will also be available for the upcoming 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
In addition to Cynthia Erivo, the parade will feature performances by a star-studded lineup including EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI, the casts of Broadway’s “Buena Vista Social Club,” “Just in Time,” and “Ragtime,” and the Radio City Rockettes. Other performers include Drew Baldridge, Matteo Bocelli, Colbie Caillat, Ciara, Gavin DeGraw, and many more.
Matt Strauss, Chairman of NBCUniversal Media Group, expressed excitement about the Mulitview feature, stating that it will provide fans with never-before-seen viewpoints of the parade route. Jen Neal, Executive Vice President of Live Events and Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment, emphasized the network’s commitment to delivering unique viewing experiences to audiences.
This year, NBCUniversal has seen a nearly 20% increase in holiday advertiser spending compared to 2024, with a significant demand from tech, pharma, insurance, and restaurants. The network is also introducing new ad innovations, such as shoppable ad options on Peacock and virtual concessions during holiday programming.
Alison Levin, President of Advertising & Partnership at NBCUniversal, highlighted the network’s status as the go-to destination for holiday audiences and the success of their holiday ad products in building meaningful connections with consumers.
With all these exciting new features and performances lined up, the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is sure to be a must-watch event for viewers of all ages. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience the magic of the parade like never before on Peacock’s Mulitview option.
