Man Fatally Stabbed in Bronx Apartment
A tragic incident unfolded late Sunday night in the Bronx, as 32-year-old Michael Bookhart lost his life in a violent altercation with his girlfriend. The fatal stabbing occurred around 10:40 p.m. inside an apartment building on East 138th Street near Brown Place in Mott Haven, according to law enforcement sources.
Bookhart sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest during a heated argument with his girlfriend, prompting a 911 call for emergency assistance. He was swiftly transported to Lincoln Medical Center, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The victim resided only a few blocks away from the scene of the tragic incident.
The 23-year-old girlfriend of Bookhart, who had no prior arrests, was taken into custody for questioning by law enforcement authorities. As of late Monday afternoon, she had not been formally charged in connection with the incident.
