A man is scheduled to appear in court on Monday following a standoff with police on a building’s roof in central Christchurch.
According to police, officers were called to an incident on Durham St on Sunday, where it appeared someone might have been interrupted during a break-in attempt.
The 39-year-old man was taken into custody around 9:15 pm after the standoff with the police.
Footage from Chris Lynch Media captured images of the man on the roof of the central city building, swinging a large pole as police aimed lasers at him.
