A 21-year-old individual, who had just finished serving his parole for the robbery of an elderly person on the CTA, has been detained once again, facing charges for two additional violent robberies on the Red Line that occurred last month.

According to the prosecutors, Anthony Cheeks is accused of mugging two men within a single week, though Chicago police believe he may be linked to several other incidents.

The first robbery allegedly took place on September 5 when Cheeks stole a backpack from a 38-year-old man aboard a Red Line train close to Jackson. Just six days afterward, it is reported that Cheeks, along with accomplices, targeted a 47-year-old male passenger at the 47th Street station. Cheeks purportedly demanded the victim’s Tito’s vodka, and when the man refused, Cheeks allegedly indicated he had a firearm by placing his hand in his pants.

“You know, I shoot m***********s!” he supposedly threatened before he forcibly seized the vodka and assaulted the victim, hitting him in the face, chest, and head.
