French authorities have apprehended a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of knife attacks on three women at different metro stations in central Paris. The incidents occurred at Republique, Arts et Metiers, and Opera stations around 4pm on Friday, with fortunately non-life-threatening injuries reported for the victims.
The alleged perpetrator, a man in his mid-20s, was identified through surveillance footage, according to a statement from the city prosecutor’s office. The individual was already known to law enforcement for previous minor offenses, including property damage.
While the motive behind the attacks remains unclear, the authorities are actively investigating the case to determine the reasons behind the violent spree.
