A man receives life imprisonment without parole for 2022 Denver shooting
On Thursday, a man was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for a shooting in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood in 2022 that resulted in the death of another man.
27-year-old Dydrick Martin was found guilty of first-degree murder for the killing of 25-year-old Torrese Gill, Jr. on Christmas Day, according to court records and a news release from the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
Upon police arrival, Gill was found with a gunshot wound in the 4800 block of North Crown Boulevard. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Denver District Attorney Beth McCann stated, “Judge (Eric) Johnson’s sentence ensures that Dydrick Martin is held responsible for his actions and will never have the chance to commit further crimes.”
