Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, and Danny Huston have been announced as the stars of an upcoming limited series titled “The Artist,” a Gilded Age murder mystery set to premiere in March 2025. The series will follow an ensemble of historical celebrities, including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas, and Evelyn Nesbit, as they gather at the home of an eccentric and failing tycoon. The night takes a dark turn when the mogul is found dead, setting the stage for a thrilling murder mystery.
Produced by The Network, the seven-episode series is currently in production and filming on location in Connecticut. The Network founder Aram Rappaport serves as the creator, executive producer, writer, and director of the show, with Hilary Shor as a producer.
Rappaport expressed his excitement for the project, stating, “The way we make television has changed. I believe it is a fundamental truth that artists should hold the keys to their craft and creativity. This series will push the boundaries of storytelling and give actors the freedom to challenge themselves and take risks.”
In addition to the talented trio of leads, the series also features a stellar supporting cast, including Thomas Edison, Edgar Degas, and Evelyn Nesbit. Each actor brings a wealth of experience to their roles, with Patinkin known for his Emmy-winning performances in “Homeland” and “Wonder,” McTeer recognized for her work in “Kaos” and “Ozark,” and Huston’s credits including “Yosemite” and “Horizon: An American Saga.”
Launching in May 2024, The Network is a free streaming platform that exclusively releases original content. With over one million active users, the platform aims to release one new series per month in 2026, showcasing a commitment to innovative storytelling and diverse programming.
