ManéMané Celebrates 10 Years with a Forward-Thinking Runway Show

ManéMané is celebrating a milestone this year as the brand marks its 10th anniversary with a sense of introspection and a focus on the future. Creative director Miguel Becer spoke with Vogue España before the show, expressing the brand’s desire to celebrate its evolution while keeping its eyes firmly set on what lies ahead.

To commemorate a decade at the helm of the label, Becer made the decision to return to the runway, a format that had been set aside in recent seasons. Teaming up with 080 Barcelona, the show was a joyful comeback for the brand. Becer explained, “I enjoy working on collections with or without a show, but with the anniversary approaching, it felt like the perfect moment to say yes.”

The runway collection presented by ManéMané featured elements of punk and folklore, revisiting many of the brand’s signature codes but transforming them through a fresh perspective. Becer shared, “Some of the iconic pieces from our universe—like corsets—are back, but reinvented as quilted jackets or seamlessly woven into garments, stripped of boning and structure.” The clothes remained bold and experimental, staying true to the brand’s DNA.

ManéMané’s forward-thinking spirit was evident throughout the collection, with a shift away from total looks towards individual pieces that could stand on their own. Becer expressed his desire to move away from the idea that every piece must work together as part of a full look, drawing inspiration from brands like Miu Miu and stylist Lotta Volkova who embrace a more grounded and realistic approach to styling.

The runway show featured a mix of stripes, Liberty florals, and checks set to a techno beat, reflecting a blend of underground culture and folk tradition. Accessories such as sunglasses worn tied around the head and footwear developed in collaboration with Y2K brand Art added character to the looks. Becer highlighted the importance of collaborations in the brand’s creative process, offering a 360º proposition that allows anyone to immerse themselves in the ManéMané universe.

As ManéMané celebrates its 10th anniversary, the brand continues to push boundaries and explore new directions in fashion, proving that there is always room for evolution and innovation in the ever-changing industry.
