Man Slashes Stranger on Brooklyn Train After Refusing to Give Cash
Over the weekend, a maniac attacked a stranger on a Brooklyn train after the victim refused to give him cash, according to police reports.
The incident occurred on a northbound N train approaching 86th Street in Gravesend around 2:20 a.m. on Saturday. The suspect, wearing a black mask and a bright-red puffer coat, demanded the victim’s wallet and money. When the victim refused, the attacker slashed him multiple times in the head, face, back, and knee.
After the attack, the suspect took the victim’s wallet and fled the station on foot. The victim was later taken to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn and is currently in stable condition.
Police are actively searching for the suspect, who was captured on surveillance footage leaving the station. The footage shows the suspect wearing a hood and a mask that covered most of his face.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or in Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted online at the Crime Stoppers website or via @NYPDTips.
This violent incident follows a recent arrest of a 14-year-old boy for allegedly stabbing a 65-year-old panhandler on a Harlem subway platform after being asked for cash.
