Marcia Gay Harden has joined the star-studded cast of the highly anticipated Apple series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” According to Variety, Harden will make a guest appearance in the series, which already boasts an impressive lineup including Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, and Thaddea Graham. The show, based on the novel by Rufi Thorpe, was greenlit for eight episodes on Apple TV+ in February 2024.
The storyline revolves around Margo Millet, played by Elle Fanning, who is the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Michelle Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler (Nick Offerman). As an unemployed single mother in her early 20s, Margo turns to launching an OnlyFans account to make ends meet. When her father reenters her life, she begins incorporating his wrestling lessons into her OnlyFans content, leading to unexpected success.
Marcia Gay Harden is a familiar face to Apple audiences, having appeared in all three seasons of “The Morning Show,” earning her two Emmy nominations for best guest actress in a drama series. She also starred in the CBS dramedy “So Help Me Todd” for two seasons and received Emmy nominations for other notable roles. Harden’s accolades include an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her work in “Pollock.”
The series is helmed by David E. Kelley, who serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. In addition to starring, Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, and Michelle Pfeiffer will also executive produce the show. The Fanning sisters’ production company, Lewellen Pictures, and Kidman’s Blossom Films are among the executive producers, alongside David E. Kelley Productions. A24 is the studio behind the production.
