As Radar previously reported, Kelly Ripa has been unable to film her popular morning show for the last two weeks due to recovery from a “painful” gum graft surgery, which her dentist had advised her to prepare for five years ago.
During her absence, a lineup of celebrity guests, including Kevin Jonas, Scott Foley, Sarah Chalke, Mila Kunis, and Garcelle Beauvais, have stepped in alongside Mark Consuelos to co-host the show.
On July 27, Consuelos assured fans that his wife successfully underwent the procedure, although she was still unable to speak or eat regular foods as part of her recovery process.
He explained to Jonas, “There’s a list of things that you’re not allowed to do – talking, she has to eat soft food, you can’t suck out of a straw. You can’t examine it, which means pulling down the lip.”
Consuelos added, “She famously doesn’t feel pain. But this one hurts, so I know it’s bad.”
Live With Kelly and Mark is set to go on a summer break, during which it will feature pre-recorded content for the upcoming month. Kelly Ripa is scheduled to make her live return on September 8, marking her first episode back since the surgery.
