Tragedy struck the TV world as Wenne Alton Davis, known for her role in “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” was tragically hit and killed by a car in New York City.
The 60-year-old actress, whose real name was Wendy Davis, sustained a fatal head injury when she was struck by a Cadillac while crossing the street near Manhattan’s Broadway. She was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she passed away later that night.
The 61-year-old male driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the accident and has not been charged. Authorities reported that he hit Davis while making a left turn onto West 53rd Street, and she had the right of way.
Wendy was most recognized for her role in Amazon Prime’s popular series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” where she portrayed a police officer alongside Rachel Brosnahan in 2023. Additionally, she made appearances on NBC’s “Blindspot” and “New Amsterdam.”
Edward Reynoso, a close friend of Wendy, shared with the New York Daily News that just hours before the accident, she expressed her love and appreciation to him, which felt like a poignant goodbye in hindsight.
Wenne Davis was 60 years old at the time of her tragic passing.
