A Maryland woman was arrested in Florida after allegedly assaulting a child who insulted her with Muppets-related remarks.
Kristy Crampton, a 46-year-old from Hagerstown, MD, was taken into custody at the Orlando Sanford Airport following an incident on a flight bound for Maryland.
According to police reports, the altercation occurred after the child, who was experiencing behavioral issues, directed derogatory remarks towards Crampton.
Witnesses stated that the verbal altercation turned physical when the child insulted Crampton by calling her names like “fat” and “Miss Piggy.”
Allegedly, Crampton responded by physically assaulting the child, claiming that the insults were the final straw after enduring disrespectful behavior during their trip to Disney World.
Although the relationship between Crampton and the child remains unclear, it is apparent that they were traveling together. Crampton stated that the altercation began when the child tried to take her phone.
Crampton was arrested and charged with domestic cruelty toward a child and causing abuse without significant bodily harm. She was later released without bond.
The incident serves as a reminder that tensions can escalate quickly, even in the most magical of places like Disney World.
