The regular dodecagon and the blue star inside it both have a side length of 1 unit. What is the area of the star?

To solve this puzzle, we need to understand the composition of the regular dodecagon with a side length of 1 unit. The dodecagon is made up of a dark blue star and 12 light blue equilateral triangles, each with a side length of 1 unit. The star itself has the same area as six dark blue squares that are also part of the dodecagon.

Therefore, the area of the star is equal to the combined area of the six squares, which is 6 units.
