Maxine Waters Appears Confused Over “Gross Domestic Product” as She Struggles to Read Prepared Remarks (VIDEO) |

In a recent House Financial Services Committee hearing, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters of California appeared to have a challenging time articulating her prepared remarks.

At the age of 86, Waters, who holds the position of ranking member on the committee, seemed to grapple with the concept of “Gross Domestic Product” while reading from her notes.

During the session, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent provided testimony and found himself in a contentious exchange with Waters.

Observers noted that Waters’ delivery resembled that of a third grader nervously reciting a book report they had just remembered that morning.

Waters made several attempts to challenge Bessent’s statements, but each effort fell notably flat.

In an even more awkward moment, Waters seemingly forgot that she had previously met Bessent. “This is the first time we’ve met, is that correct?” she questioned him.

“No, ma’am. We actually met one New Year’s Eve in the Bahamas,” Bessent replied, highlighting the disconnect.
