This past weekend, I received an intriguing message from Ignacio Murillo, the global casting director for Vogue, prompting me to explore the Instagram profile of Luna Yohannan. This rising star made her runway debut earlier this year at Michael Rider’s inaugural show for Celine in July. Since then, she has been captivating followers with delightful illustrations of the runway looks from the Spring 2026 season, showcasing her work with designers such as Tory Burch, Altuzarra, Coach, Ralph Lauren, and Jason Wu. The illustrations she shares are anything but average; they exude a playful and joyful essence, seeming more like whimsical posters than traditional fashion sketches. Each illustration seems to imbue Luna or her figurines with a unique and charming personality.
Originally from New York, Luna graduated from high school just last year, initially planning to take a gap year before heading to Wesleyan University in Connecticut to study biochemical engineering—a true multi-hyphenate. Prior to her rapid rise in modeling, she worked as a hostess at Indochine, a hotspot restaurant downtown. “I always knew it was a place that attracted a fashionable crowd,” she recounted during a call from her Airbnb in Milan last Friday. “But one night, a guy asked me which agency I was with, and I responded, ‘Do you have a reservation?'” she chuckled. Luna handed him her Instagram handle, unaware that he was a friend of Butterfly Cayley, a scout from DNA Models.
