The Controversy Surrounding Meghan Markle and Alleged Stolen Items from Photoshoots
Recently, journalist Vanessa Grigoriadis made some shocking claims during a podcast appearance on Andrew Gold’s Heretics. According to Grigoriadis, she was told that Meghan Markle allegedly walked off with several items from a photoshoot without permission, sparking a new controversy surrounding the Duchess.
This is not the first time such allegations have surfaced. In Tom Bower’s 2022 book, Revenge, it was revealed that while living in Toronto and still an actress on Suits, Markle demanded a pair of expensive designer heels for a photoshoot with the Canadian department store Reitman’s. To the surprise of the wardrobe staff, Markle allegedly forgot to return the Aquazzura shoes, walking off with the pricey pumps.
Fast forward to November 2017, Markle was photographed wearing the identical Aquazzura “Very Matilde” crisscross suede pumps during the photo call to announce her engagement to Prince Harry. Since then, she has been spotted in the same accessory multiple times, raising eyebrows about the origin of the shoes.
Grigoriadis hinted at another incident during a recent high-profile photoshoot involving Markle, where a lot of items were allegedly not returned after the shoot. While she did not explicitly mention which photoshoot it was, many speculate it was the Variety shoot, as it was Markle’s last major one at the time of the podcast appearance.
The journalist acknowledged that instances of items not being returned after a photoshoot are not unheard of, stating that “sticky fingers at the end of a photoshoot is not uncommon.” However, the implications of these allegations on Markle’s reputation are significant, especially considering her status as a public figure.
