Visitors gathered at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on May 25, 2025, to pay their respects to loved ones.

Flags for Fallen Vets, a volunteer organization, placed flags on every grave marker of fallen veterans and their family members for Memorial Day weekend. Lead coordinator Amber Schoenrock mentioned that this year they placed 109,000 flags at a cost of $10,000, relying on volunteers to assist with both flag placement and collection after the holiday.

Memorial Day is a day dedicated to honoring and remembering those who have sacrificed their lives while serving in the U.S. military. It is observed on the last Monday of May and serves as a time for reflection and remembrance, originating as a way to decorate the graves of Civil War soldiers.
