Netflix has once again captured the attention of viewers with its compelling content centered around the infamous Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik. The true crime documentary “The Menendez Brothers” emerged as the most-watched title on the streaming platform during the week of Oct. 6-12, garnering an impressive 22.7 million views within its first six days of release.
The success of the film can be attributed to the renewed interest in the brothers, fueled by recent developments in their case and the popularity of Ryan Murphy’s scripted series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.” Premiering on Sept. 19, the series has maintained its position in the Netflix Top 10 for four weeks, currently ranking at No. 3 with 8.7 million views.
In a competitive landscape, “Monsters” faced tough competition from other TV titles, including Season 4 of “Outer Banks,” which debuted at No. 1 with 15.5 million views in its first three days. Additionally, “Nobody Wants This” secured the second spot with 9.6 million views after initially debuting at the top and spending a week in that position.
“Outer Banks” is poised to remain a fixture on the Netflix Top 10, as only the first five episodes of Season 4 were released on Oct. 10, with an additional five episodes set to debut on Nov. 7.
As Netflix continues to captivate audiences with its diverse range of content, viewers can expect more thrilling and engaging titles in the pipeline. Stay tuned for updates on the latest releases and trending shows on the streaming platform.
